Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, two well-known Nollywood actresses and AGN members who were abducted in an Enugu neighborhood twenty-four hours ago, have been contacted by their captors.

The actors’ families confirmed they did not arrive home from a filming site in Ozalla Town, Enugu state, on Thursday, therefore their disappearance was reported.

The movies that both actors have starred in were filmed in the states of Delta and Enugu.

The kidnappers are asking for a large number of dollars, according to Emeka Rollas, the national president of the AGN, who spoke to Premium Times on Saturday.

The kidnappers have been in touch with the families and are asking for $100,000, he claimed. We ask God to intervene and to create turmoil among them in their midst.

We are also closely collaborating with various security personnel, but since the same thing is occurring across the nation, we are unsure of what to anticipate from them.

Mr. Rollas added that Guild members are coordinating closely with the victims’ relatives and law enforcement to achieve their safe release.

Mr. Rollas said that “the kidnappers cleared the money in Cynthia Okereke’s account this morning” in an interview with Punch that appeared on Saturday.

We are also closely collaborating with various security personnel, but since the same thing is occurring across the nation, we are unsure of what to anticipate from them.

Extra precautions
Mr. Rollas claimed that the Guild had instructed its members to take proper security precautions in their locations and to refrain from shooting outside of the city as part of efforts to prevent a recurrence.

The actors’ kidnapping was revealed by AGN’s director of communications, Monalisa Chinda, in a statement made accessible to PREMIUM TIMES on Friday.

According to Ms. Chinda, members’ concerns regarding the security of actors filming in the nation have grown as a result of their kidnapping.
