In the 4x100m final at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, Ghana came in fifth place.

Sean Safo-Antwi, Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Oduro Manu, and Joseph Paul Amoah created a new national record in the process, clocking in at 38.07 seconds.

With a run of 38.58 seconds on Saturday, Ghana’s relay team secured a spot in the fourth relays final in the previous three years and turned their attention to winning a medal when they hit the field early on Sunday, July 24.

However, the run ultimately only served to ensure that they came in last position, trailing eventual champions Canada, silver medalists the United States, bronze medalists Great Britain, and fourth-placed Jamaica.

This concludes Ghana’s participation in the competitions, when it did not win any medals.
