Andre Ayew achieved an amazing victory, leading Ghana to defeat Sudan 2-0 in the AFCON qualifier at the Cape Town Stadium on the 3rd day of 2021.

After a relatively quiet opening 15 minutes, the Black Star team captain marked his 91st international appearance with a pleasant free kick, thus taking the home team into the lead.

A few minutes later, the visitor almost restored parity through Mohamed Abdel Rahman, but the striker’s shot only flew at the farthest point of the left post.

Samuel Owusu (Samuel Owusu) also missed the wonderful opportunity to double Ghana’s lead after facing Ali Abdullah one-on-one, but the goalkeeper made an excellent save. Keep the score at 1-0.

There was a moment of controversy in the 36th minute. After John Boye challenged Abdel Rahman in the 18-yard box, the Senegalese referee rejected Yedine’s Falcon’s Punishment.

The decision of Sudanese coach Hubert Velud was not well resolved, who ended up with a yellow card due to a lively protest on the sideline.

At the end of halftime, Andre Ayew flew home from Samuel Owusu’s cross but ruled out a goal due to a clear violation of the ball.

After the adjournment, the visitors gradually entered the game and began to control possession of the ball, which led to a halftime opportunity, but goalkeeper Richard Ofori remained stable.

Both teams continued to suffer until Andre Ayew made an amazing solo effort late in the game to take matters into his own hands.

The Swansea forward skipped three men, then curled a fierce shot from outside the penalty area to lock a three-pointer for Arkonor’s man.

The result means that Ghana firmly controls Group C. So far, he has won three games in three games, scoring 5 goals and conceding 0 goals.

The four-time African champions will head to Khartoum for a reverse match in five days.

Another victory will make the Black Star team eligible for the ninth consecutive African Cup of Nations Championship.
