Moscow (Associated Press)-Searchers combed the area where the Ukrainian military plane crashed and found two more bodies on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 26. One person survived.

The plane was a twin-turboprop Antonov 26 aircraft belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force. When it crashed and caught fire on Friday night, it was landing on a plane from a crew of 7 to 20 military aviation school crews and then landed in Chuwei. Landed at Yev Airport. About 400 kilometers (250 miles) east of the capital Kiev.

Initially, two people survived the disaster but later died in the hospital. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Saturday his condolences to the victims of the crash and ordered the suspension of the An-26 flight, pending investigation into the cause of the crash.

Zelenskiy visited the crash zone on Saturday and asked for a comprehensive assessment of the state of the country’s military equipment. Prime Minister Denis Shygal requested an official report on the crash by October 25.

Zelensky said in a statement issued by his office: “Yesterday, we lost young cadets and experienced soldiers. They have been full of lives throughout their lives. I am sure that they have more than one military feat ahead of them. Their family.”

Deputy Defense Minister Igor Stanobincis said that the families of the deceased will each receive compensation of approximately 1,500,000 hryvnia (56,000 US dollars).

An-26 is a transport aircraft used by military and civilian operators. According to the company’s website, from 1969 to 1986, a total of nearly 1,400 aircraft were produced. Defense Minister Andrei Taran (Andrei Taran) said that the crashed plane was made in 1977.

The -26 plane leased by a contractor of the World Food Program crashed on August 22 when it took off from Juba, South Sudan, killing 7 people.

The crash was the second large-scale air crash suffered by Ukraine this year. In January, a Boeing 737 belonging to Ukraine International Airlines was shot down shortly after taking off from Tehran Airport in Iran, killing all 176 people on board.

After the United States killed a senior general in a drone attack, the plane was shot down by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards due to increased tension.
