The standard-bearer of the opposition National Congress of Democracy (NDC) has taken a mocking approach in the Election Commission (EC) led by Jean Mensa, calling the institution “incompetent.”

In a speech in the Bono region on Monday, John Mahama said that the committee has allowed the committee to become a tool for the government to implement its catabolic agenda.

He said this caused a lot of anarchy and chaos in the country

“Too many mistakes have occurred; the incompetence of the EC is legendary. We hold elections in this country, and register voters in this country, but we have never seen such chaos and chaos in the election process.

“It may cause a crisis in our country. Today, we don’t know if we want to have a reliable register because we have no confidence in the ongoing process. Anarchy and chaos are too much.” He said.

At the same time, the former president has suspended a four-day trip to the Bono region to return to Accra and deal with certain contradictions in the electoral roll.

According to him, too many abnormalities were found in the ongoing exhibition activities, so he needs to solve this problem.

“The voter register is the most important document in any election. If the voter register is unreliable or has many errors; it will be difficult to conduct free, fair and transparent elections.”

John Mahama also called on international election observers to take an interest in what is happening in Ghana and monitor the election process.

However, he apologized to voters and promised to return after the problem was resolved. He said that the party has not yet issued a major statement on the matter in due course.
