Okada, trotro, cabbies can trade old vehicles, bicycles for new vehicles – Bawumia

The Akufo-Addo government is proposing a National Transport Recapitalisation Project which, whenever actualized, will give a rent to-claim alternative to every business driver, including Okada administrators, to trade their old vehicles or bicycles for recently collected ones in Ghana.

As per Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the issuance of public character cards alongside the execution of the advanced property address framework, the versatile cash interoperability and the widespread QR Code, will all permit the improvement of an acknowledge framework for credit reference offices to make the proposition work.

Dr Bawumia said this as the Guest Speaker at the joint dispatch of a vital cooperation among Volkswagen and BlackIvy for the creation of moderate homes and reasonable vehicles for the Ghanaian public.

Dr Bawumia further noticed that for the car business to be effective, there must be sufficient homegrown interest for the vehicles delivered.

To this end, he repeated that the Akufo-Addo-drove government will have the option to give better alternatives to Okada riders to rent to-claim vehicles on the off chance that they decide to, and, subsequently, the legislature won’t legitimize Okada activities.
