Former England forward Darren Bent told Talksports that after Sunderland acquired Asamoah Gyan in 2010, he felt worried and uneasy and explained that it was him. The key to leaving the club in five months.

Gyan is a record signing for Rennes. He scored 11 consecutive goals and provided 5 assists for the Black Cats in 37 games.

However, before the arrival of the Ghanaians, Bent had an impressive first season in which he scored 24 and scored 4 in the 38th league game.

Then, Asamoah Gyan arrived, and the British forward was shocked and unhappy. He knew that Asamoah Gyan was Ghana’s best player in the 2010 Summer FIFA World Cup.

“You can’t help thinking, ‘What’s going on here?” Benter told TalkSport.

“I won’t say that this is a problem, but when I was in Sunderland, I had a very, very good season. I scored.

“Then I missed the World Cup game that summer, and Asamoah Gyan was really great for Ghana that summer.

“I remember reading the newspaper one day, maybe I was at home or on vacation, and it said, and ‘Sunderland has a connection with Asamoah Gyan, which I find a little strange.

“The next thing I know, I will go back to the preseason later, and Gyan walks into the building… Danny Welbeck walks into the building…

“I was thinking, ‘what’s going on!?’ I stayed there, but until January.”

When asked what his initial reaction was and whether he wanted to determine Ji’an’s figure after arriving in Jean, Bente continued: “Of course. That’s what you have to do.

“You start looking for training, and then think about what he is good at? What can he do, can he not do well? “In the end, in my role, I scored more goals than them. That’s what I think.”
