Akufo-Addo resourcing NPP vigilantes more than Police – Mahama

NDC standard bearer John Dramani Mahama said that the Akufo-Addo government has more guards than the police responsible for fighting crime in the country.

According to Mr. Mahama, the impact of this is the recent large number of armed robberies in the country.

“We are all witnesses to the dire security situation in the country. Recently, armed robbers no longer worry about our security personnel. They blocked the main roads and robbed people for fearlessness. Instead of providing our security personnel with guns to protect us, it is better to provide them to the guards. The funds used to purchase uniforms for our security personnel were misappropriated and used to purchase uniforms for guards, and our prisons, immigration and firefighters lack uniforms.

He said that the next National Democratic Party government will not allow this to exist.

“If you ask our police officers, they will tell you that they have not received a uniform distribution for a year. Sometimes you will encounter a police officer in faded uniform marching on our streets. Is anyone afraid of such a police officer?

“When I invest in motivation, I will make sure that what needs to be done for our security personnel is what has been done,” Mr. Mahama said, while addressing NDC supporters in the new Juaben South constituency for his campaign trip to the east. Part of the area.

Mr. Mahama reiterated his promise that the next NDC government will pardon illegal miners (galamsayers) imprisoned by the Akufo-Addo government.
